The 48-year-old actor revealed that he and his wife Lauren Hashian, as well as their daughters, four-year-old Jasmine and two-year-old Tiana, contracted the virus about two-and-a-half weeks ago…
“I wanted to give you guys a little helpful update on things that have been going on on my end for the past two-and-a-half to three weeks now. So the update is this: my wife Lauren as well as my two baby girls and myself, we have all tested positive for COVID-19," the world’s highest paid actor said in an Instagram video.
"I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family, and for me, too, personally as well. And I've gone through some doozies in the past."
He said he believed they caught the novel Coronavirus from asymptomatic family friends who didn’t even know they had the virus.
According to the Jumanji star, his two daughters didn’t have many symptoms, but he and his 35-year-old wife Lauren were a bit more affected…
"So for our babies, Jazzy and Tia, they had a little sore throat the first couple of days, but other than that, they bounced back and, and it's been life as normal, happy babies running around and playing,” he continued in the video.
"But it was a little bit different for Lauren and I," he said, adding that they both “had a rough go at it” but eventually "got through it as a family".
The actor took the opportunity to tell people not to get complacent about the virus, and to be as careful and diligent as possible.
"We are counting our blessings right now because we're well aware that it isn't always the case that you get on the other end of COVID-19 stronger and healthier,” he added.
“I have had some of my best friends have lost their parents, their loved ones, to this virus that is so incredibly relentless and unforgiving, and it is insidious.”
He even suggested that everyone get tested the day before any intimate social gatherings with family and friends, regardless of how well you know them…
“If you guys are having family and friends over to your house, you know them, you trust them. They can be quarantining just like you guys. You still never know. You never know,” he added.
"Don't let your guard down, boosts your immunity with antioxidants, vitamins, things of that nature.”
The Rock also weighed in on the controversy surrounding face masks, in particular how many people are refusing to wear them…
"The other thing is wear your mask, we have been in quarantine for months, we wear our masks every day," he concluded.
"This baffles me that some people out there, including some politicians, will take this idea of wearing mask and make it a political agenda of a political agenda, politicizing. It has nothing to do in politics.
"Wear your mask. It is a fact, and it is the right thing to do. And it's the responsible thing to do.
"Use me as your example. Remember these takeaways that I shared with you and stay healthy, my friends, and I'll see you down the road."
We don’t really want to disagree with a 6 ft 5 former wrestler; do you?

Thank you for sharing your story and encouraging others to wear a mask. It’s such an injustice for those that refuse to.
