Black man shot by police will need a miracle to walk again

It seems like these shootings of black men by police never end. It happened again to Jacob Blake, 29 year old Wisconsin man. A Black man was shot by police severally when opening the door of his car. The worst bit is that all this shooting happened as his young kids sat in the car.

According to the family's lawyers, he will need a miracle to ever walk again because one of the bullets went through his spinal cord.

Blake wasn't the only man who was shot that Tuesday night at Kenosha. Other people were reportedly shot during continuing unrest that were as a reaction to police shooting against an racism in general especially after the shooting of George Floyd, another black man, in May. More National Guard troops have been sent to Kenosha by the governor.

Because of the puncturing of his spinal cord, Blake is paralyzed and doctors are not sure whether he will be able to use his legs. All the family is left with is hoping for a miracle to happen even though the diagnosis is that he is paralyzed. Their lawyer, Ben Crump told a press conference: "those bullets severed his spinal cord and shattered some of his vertebrae, it is going to take a miracle for Jacob Blake Jr to ever walk again."

Besides the spinal cord injury, Black also was also left with holes in his tummy, suffered an arm injury and his kidney and liver are damaged. The doctors had to remove most of his colon and small intestine.

According to his mother, Julia Jackson, his son is fighting for his life.

The violence and destruction have left buildings and cars damaged following protests over the shootings on the south-western shore of Lake Michigan. A state of emergency has been declared in Wisconsin after the unrest continued for third night.

Ms. Jackson called for healing as she addressed racism head-on in her speech.

The details of Blake's shooting are quite fuzzy. The footage shows him opening the door after which one officer grabbed his shirt and suddenly shot him seven times. Witnessed could be heard shouting and screaming. The kids at the back of the car were screaming as their father was being shot.

According to court records, there was an arrest warrant against Blake on domestic abuse and sexual assault charges. Investigations into the shooting are going on and the officers involved are on leave. There is a petition for them  to be charge that has got over 10000 signatures.

This is what Blakes father said about the investigations: "Anybody that is white, that is doing an investigation about a black young man that was shot seven times in his back, and haven't come up with an answer or a comment at this point, is not welcome."

Protests are still on going and 24-hour businesses have been urged to close because of reports of robberies and shots being fired. Some people ignored the night-time curfew though. Kenosha has been chaotic ever since the shooting and the protests have even spread to other cities.

Well, let's just hope that justice will be served.

    This article is a denial of reality.... want to stop being shot? Stop disobeying lawful police orders and resisting arrest. The numbers are barely single digits this year. BLM cares NOTHING about black lives ZERO; this is about Marxist revolution nothing more

      Please what is d reality? Pls read d story below. A white man shot at d police 40 times after killing his wife but wasn't killed. Yet a black unarmed guy was shot in d back 7 times. D fact that he was shot in back shows that he wasn't an aggressor. If ur theory that d punishment for resisting arrest is death or being shot by d police, then d guy in this story should be dead by a hail of police bullets. Question is y isn't he?

      Hello StysFann77, look this up on Google Jerry took police car! He was beating on police, and you can hear his mother or a female, saying "Jerry you going to get hurt." No shots were fired! This happened about 1 year ago, prime example!

        There are times when people get shot and there are times when they don’t. I am no fan of police, but police are not all connected at the brain stem in every city in every state. Police in CT will pull you over just to be random assholes while police in NYC usually turn the other way on a lot of issues. It’s all about location and environment. Your 1 example doesn’t excuse the 19 WHITE MEN who WERE shot by police last year vs the 9 black men.

    Maybe if you stop jumping to conclusions like the rest of the liberals and WAIT for investigations to be done (which it was) you’d know that Blake had a WEAPON in his car that he was REACHING FOR. I guess police are just supposed to let a person grab his weapon FIRST and THEN decide if they should shoot, eh?

      Blake walked away from the police and said that he had a knife in the car and started walking to the car with his back turned to the police and in this environment that we are in this was not a smart move on his part.
